Whether you are in high school or college, more than likely you are going to be required to write some research papers. While some teachers and professors may assign you topics, many times you will find yourself having to pick out your topic on your own, which can be quite a difficult task. When you pick out your topic you want to be sure that it is relevant to your class, but you probably want to have a bit of fun with it too. If you need some help choosing research paper topics, here are a few tips to help you make the right choice.

Brainstorm
First, write down every possible topic that you can think of to research. Don't limit yourself at this stage, but just come up with as many ideas as you can. Next, narrow it down to 3-5 possible topics, then use the criteria below to pick one.

Don’t Take Too Much Time Choosing
One important thing to remember when you are trying to come up with research paper topics is that you don’t want to take too much time choosing. You need to have plenty of time to actually complete your paper, so be sure that you make a choice on your topic quickly, so you have plenty of time to get the paper completed.

Pick a Topic that Interests You
When choosing research paper topics, it is very important that you pick out a topic that is interesting to you. If you pick out something that you find interesting, it will make it even harder for you to get involved in writing your paper. It will be more exciting to write the paper if your topic interests you.

Which Topic Will Be Easy to Research?
You may also want to think about which research paper topics are going to be the easiest for you to research. This can vary from person to person, so make sure that you find something that will be easy for you. Consider what resources you have, like the internet, books, encyclopedias, and then figure out your topic choice.
